We meet on the first Wednesday of every month at the VFW Club in Northfield at 7:30 p.m. Anyone who has an interest in street rods, customs, antiques, special interest, or foreign is welcome to attend. You do not need to own a car but only have an interest to attend. On Friday evenings at 6:30 p.m., during the months of May through August, we meet at the Ames Mill parking lot just off of Hwy. 3 in Northfield, then at 7:00 p.m. leave for a cruise for approximately an hour and end up at different restaurants in the area where we have dinner together as a club.  Anyone is welcome to participate and we usually end up with 20 or more cars.

In addition to being a fun-loving group of car enthusiasts, we try to be of benefit to our community. We have sponsored a youth baseball team for many years. In the past, we have also donated driver education scholarships to students who are unable to pay the full cost, and we have donated funds for various auto shop classes.  The Sundowners Car Club made a donation in helping to create the Veterans Memorial in Northfield’s Riverside Park, as well as a donation in helping to create the Rice County Veteran’s Memorial at the Rice County Courthouse in Faribault.  The club has also made donations to the VFW for helping soldiers serving our country, as well as other VFW sponsored benefits.  Other groups have also benefited from the Sundowners Car Club contributions such as The Ride for Hospice in Faribault and the Northfield Community Action Center for the local food shelf.

In addition to the Defeat of Jesse James Days Car Show, we also show the club cars in downtown Northfield during one evening of Crazy Days.

Our club has members who live in the southern Minnesota area. We welcome all car enthusiasts to attend our meetings and club-sponsored functions.
